Sailor, 86, and his dog rescued alive 460 miles off San Diego after two months of silence
The Willow Wind left Astoria, Oregon, for American Samoa and went quiet on August 20. An emergency beacon, a merchant ship and a Coast Guard helicopter brought man and dog home on October 28 and 29.
