The surface of our Earth is approximately 70.9% is water and 29.1% is land. On 8 June World Ocean Day is celebrated to remind all of us the major role of the oceans in our everyday life. On every year 8 June is celebrated as World Ocean Day.
On #WorldOceanDay some events and seminars are organized to create awareness about oceans. Peoples are coming out in rallies also but this due to coronavirus pandemic all the rallies and events are cancelled.
The United Nations General Assembly has decided in 2008, that from 2009, 8 June will be celebrated as World Ocean Day. The theme for this year will be ‘Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean’. We are getting fresh air and oxygen from oceans. We have to come together and discuss the innovative ways to save the oceans for our future generation.
