Novak Djokovic, the famous Serbian professional tennis player who is ranked World No. 1 in men’s singles tennis. He was tested positive for Coronavirus because of an exhibition event he organized in Croatia. He was scheduled to play on Sundays final but were confirmed on Tuesday that both he and his wife Jelena had tested positive for COVID-19. His children’s results were negative.
During the tour, the fellow participants were seen mingling nearby on numerous occasions, opting not to adhere to social distancing; also, there were plenty of hugs. A Serbian actor Milos Bikovic, who attended the outing is also tested positive. Only 500 people in the public gathering are allowed, but the organizer of this tour sold 1000 tickets first and added another 1000.
This tournament has been held by Novak to help both established and upcoming tennis players from south-eastern Europe to gain some competitive tennis while other tours are on hold due to the COVID-19 situation.
He believed that the condition for hosting the tour had been met. Unfortunately, the virus is still present, and he will remain for self-isolation for the next 14 days.
