BCCI president Sourav Ganguly sent a letter to all state members: BCCI is confident of staging IPL, which got delayed in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. Ganguly’s message has given new hope about holding IPL 2020 this year.
The letter to all the members/units of IPL Ganguly has written:” The BCCI is analyzing all possiblilites to ensure that we are positive about hosting IPL this year, even if it means playing this tournament without spectators on the stand.”
He further added, “The fans, franchises, players, broadcasters, sponsors, and other stakeholders are hopefully looking forward to conducting IPL this year. Recently, several players, both from India and other countries, showed their interest in participating in the IPL this year. We all part of BCCI are confident and optimistic about deciding the future course of action”.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) still maintains its stand on the T20 World Cup both for men and women. Dada’s letter clearly suggests that the Indian cricket board has not given up on IPL 2020 so quickly and is exploring all possible plans to host IPL 2020.
