# Hailee Steinfeld shares baby Harper update as Josh Allen beats Rams in overtime

The actor posted a photo of daughter Harper Haize before Monday Night Football; Buffalo then beat Los Angeles 37–34 in overtime, helped by a blocked field goal.

Hailee Steinfeld posted a new photo of her baby daughter, Harper Haize Allen, before her husband Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills played the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football on 12 October. By the end of the night the Bills had won 37–34 in overtime, and a rare picture of the couple together after the game was doing the rounds.

It was a busy evening for a family that usually rations what it shares. Steinfeld has kept most of her updates about her daughter to her own newsletter and Instagram, on her own schedule.

## The game

Allen threw for 331 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another, and Buffalo were rescued by a blocked Rams field goal before winning in overtime. Steinfeld has said before that she is superstitious when her husband plays.

## How the family news has unfolded

Steinfeld and Allen married in May 2025, and announced late that year that they were expecting their first child. Steinfeld announced the birth through her Substack newsletter rather than a magazine exclusive, then revealed the name, Harper Haize Allen, in June. It is a pattern that suits her: direct, controlled and light on detail. The pair have shared photos of Harper sparingly since.

The attention around her as “Josh Allen’s wife” is a relatively new frame for someone who has been working on screen since childhood. Steinfeld was nominated for an Academy Award at 14 for *True Grit* (2010), the Coen brothers’ western, and has spent the years since moving between film and pop music. Her 2016 single “Starving”, with Grey and Zedd, reached the top 20 of the US Billboard Hot 100, a reminder that her fame never depended on a single lane. She played Kate Bishop in Marvel’s *Hawkeye* (2021), voices Vi in the animated series *Arcane* and Gwen Stacy in the *Spider-Verse* films, and played Mary in Ryan Coogler’s *Sinners* (2025).

That range has given her more control than most actors her age over how much of her life is public. The newsletter is part of that. It lets her break her own news, announce a birth on her terms and talk about family without a publicist’s filter or a tabloid’s headline.

## Why the photos travel

Celebrity-athlete couples generate a particular kind of traffic, and NFL broadcasts have learned to cut to suites and family sections when a famous partner is in the building. Steinfeld has largely resisted becoming part of the broadcast. Monday’s post-game photo of the two of them was notable precisely because there are so few.

Harper Haize Allen is not yet a year old. Her father finished Monday with 331 passing yards and four touchdowns in all, and Buffalo bank an overtime win over the Rams.
